Ebru Altan graduated from the Department of History at Istanbul University in 1992. She completed her master's degree in the same department in 1995. She obtained her doctoral degree from the Department of History at Istanbul University in 2000. Since 2003, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of History at Istanbul University, where she previously worked as a research assistant during her doctoral program.
