Suna Çağaptay graduated from Bilkent University's Department of Archaeology and Art History in 1998. She completed her master's degree in the same department at Bilkent University in 2001. She obtained her doctoral degree in the field of Architectural History and Theory from the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2007. Since 2009, she has been serving as a faculty member at Bahçeşehir University's Faculty of Architecture and Design, while also conducting academic research at various universities abroad.
