Tolga Uyar graduated from Istanbul University's Department of Italian Language and Literature in 1996. He obtained his bachelor's degree in 1997 and his master's degree in 1998 from the Department of Archaeology and Art History at Paris 1/Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He completed his doctoral degree in 2011 at the same department. Since 2015, he has been serving as a faculty member at Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University's Department of Art History.
