Meryem Acara Eser graduated from the Department of Art History at Hacettepe University in 1987. She completed her master's degree in the same department at Hacettepe University in 1990. She obtained her doctoral degree from the Department of Art History at Hacettepe University in 1997. During her doctoral studies, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Art History at Hacettepe University. Since 2005, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Art History at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
