The Panorama of the Marmara Sea Walls by Dimitriadis Efendi
The 28-metre-long depiction of Marmara Sea Walls, renderes in watercolour by Dimitriadis Efendi in 1875, has been preserved at the Istanbul Archaeological Museums since it was donated to Müze-i Hümayun (the Imperial Museum) in 1917. This publication was prepared in order to introduce this important document, which has been available to be studied by scholars, to a wider audience. Also within the scope of the Project, to be able to allow the preservation of the original document, a one to one scale copy of the scroll was produced and presented to the Museum.
